Margaret was called to the bar of Trinidad and Tobago and has extensive litigation and jury trial experience since 1995. She has a Masters in Corporate Commercial Law from the University of the West Indies and is currently pursuing her doctorate in policy research and practice at the University of Bath, UK. With over two decades of experience, Margaret is a recognized public procurement law expert providing specialist public procurement legal advice and litigation support to public bodies and corporations. Margaret has been counsel in some of the largest corruption and contract fraud enquiries in the English-Speaking Caribbean, has contributed to legislative reform in the Caribbean and speaks and delivers training worldwide on public procurement, anti-corruption and public governance. Margaret is a former lecturer at the Osgoode Hall Law School, University of York, Canada in the Public Procurement Executive Programme. In 2006 Margaret co-founded the Caribbean Procurement Institute a specialist provider of public procurement law and practice education, professional capacity building and consulting services to Governments and public sector bodies which was acquired by the Procurement Innovation & Leadership Lab UK in 2017 which aims to help public sector bodies to design and implement innovative data-driven procurement policy for inclusion and sustainable development.
